The committee met from 9am until 9.40pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Treasury portfolio, including: the Australian Competition and
Consumer Commission, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority
and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission; and
- called the Department of Industry, Tourism and
Resources.
Employment, Workplace Relations and Education
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Employment and Workplace
Relations; Education, Science and Training

The committee met from 9.03am until 10.40pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, including: the Office
of the Employment Advocate, the Australian Building and
Construction Commission, the Australian Fair Pay Commission
Secretariat, the Office of Workplace Services, and Comcare;
and
- did not require the Australian Industrial
Relations Commission; and
- concluded its hearings.
Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Foreign Affairs and
Trade; Defence (including Veterans’ Affairs)

The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio, including the Australian
Agency for International Development and the Australian Trade
Commission; and
- concluded its hearings.
Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Transport and Regional
Services; Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
For current
information about the committee’s hearings
The committee met from 9.05am until 10.58pm.
The committee called the department and
agencies of the Transport and Regional Services portfolio,
including: AusLink, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, the
Australian Maritime Safety Authority, the Civil Aviation Safety
Authority, Airservices Australia, the Inspector of Transport
Security, the Office of Transport Security, and the National
Capital Authority.

The following committees will meet on 16 February:
- Economics committee–House of Representatives Committee
Room 2R1–calling the department and agencies of the Industry,
Tourism and Resources portfolio, commencing with the
department;
- Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the
Arts Committee–Senate Committee Room 2S3–calling the
Environment and Water Resources portfolio, commencing with the
National Water Commission;
- Finance and Public Administration Committee–Main
Committee Room–calling the Department of Human Services and
agencies;
- Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee–Senate
Committee Room 2S1–calling the Agriculture, Fisheries and
Forestry portfolio, commencing with the department.
