The committee met from 9.05am until 10.50pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Health and Ageing portfolio, including the Aged Care Standards and
Accreditation Agency, Medibank Private, the Private Health
Insurance Administration Council, the Private Health Insurance
Ombudsman, the National Blood Authority, and the National Health
and Medical Research Council; and
- concluded its hearings.
Environment, Communications, Information Technology and
the Arts Committee

Information Technology and the Arts; Environment and Water
Resources

The committee met from 9.01am until 11.03pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Communications, Information Technology and the Arts portfolio,
including: the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the National
Museum of Australia, the Australia Council, the Australian Film
Commission, the National Archives of Australia, the National
Gallery of Australia, the National Library of Australia, the
Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping
Authority;
- called the department and agencies of the
Environment and Water Resources portfolio, including: the Bureau of
Meteorology, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the
Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, the Office of the Renewable Energy
Regulator, the Director of National Parks, and Parks Australia
Division;
- did not require the Supervising
Scientist.
The committee will next meet on Friday, 16 February 2007 in
Senate Committee Room 2S3, calling the Environment and Water
Resources portfolio, commencing with the National Water
Commission.
Finance and Public Administration
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Finance and
Administration; Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and
Cabinet

The committee met from 9.03am until 11.02pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Finance and Administration portfolio, including ComSuper, the
Future Fund Management Agency, and the Australian Electoral
Commission; and
- called Centrelink, of the Human Services
portfolio.
The committee will next meet on Friday, 16 February 2007 in the
Main Committee Room, calling the department and agencies of the
Human Services portfolio.
Legal and Constitutional Affairs
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General;
Immigration and Citizenship

The committee met from 9am until 11.02pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Attorney-General’s portfolio, including the Australian
Customs Service, and the Australian Federal Police;
- did not require outputs 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 2.3 and
2.4 of the department, the Australian Transaction Reports and
Analysis Centre, the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement
Integrity, the Australian Crime Commission, the Australian Security
Intelligence Organisation, the Commonwealth Director of Public
Prosecutions, the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission,
the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice
Commissioner, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, the National
Native Title Tribunal, the Australian Law Reform Commission, the
Federal Magistrates Court, and the Federal Court of Australia;
and
- concluded its hearings.
Committees will meet on Wednesday, 14 and Thursday, 15 February
2007 as follows:
