The Senate Daily Summary will be published each day
after the committees meet. The Summary will give a brief overview
on the progress made by each committee and the business each
committee expects to consider the next day.
Environment, Communications, Information Technology and
the Arts Committee

The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Communications, Information Technology and the Arts portfolio,
including the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Sports
Anti-Doping Authority, Australia Council, Australian Film
Commission, Film Finance Corporation Australia Limited, National
Archives of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, National
Library of Australia, and the National Museum of Australia;
- called the department and agencies of the
Environment and Heritage portfolio, including the Bureau of
Meteorology, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, and the
Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator; and
- concluded its budget estimates supplementary
hearings for 2006-07.
Finance and Public Administration
Committee
Portfolios allocated:
Finance and Administration; Human Services; Parliament; Prime
Minister and Cabinet

The committee met from 9.01am until 11.01pm.
The committee:
- called the departments and agencies of the
Finance and Administration portfolio, including the Department of
Finance and Administration, Australian Electoral Commission, Future
Fund Management Agency, Department of Human Services and
Centrelink;
- did not require the Child Support Agency, CRS
Australia, and Medicare Australia; and
- concluded its budget estimates supplementary
hearings for 2006-07.
Legal and Constitutional Affairs
Committee

- called the department and agencies of the
Attorney-General’s Portfolio, including the Human Rights and

Court, Federal Court of Australia, Australian Security Intelligence
Organisation, Australian Federal Police, Australian Crime
Commission, Director of Public Prosecutions CrimTrac Agency, and
Australian Customs Service; and
- concluded its budget estimates supplementary
hearings for 2006-07.
Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport
Committee

Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Transport and Regional
Services

Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio, including the Wheat
