A government response to the report of the Finance and Public
Administration References Committee into regional partnerships and
sustainable regions programs was tabled. This response was debated.

Proposed select committee
The Senate did not agree to a
motion moved by Senator Allison to establish a Select Committee
on Mental Health Services.
Reporting date extended
The Senate agreed to extend the reporting date for the inquiry
of the Finance and Public Administration Committee into
transparency and accountability of Commonwealth public funding and
expenditure to 8 February 2007.
Notice of motion given
A notice of motion was given to extend the reporting deadline of
the Community Affairs Committee for its inquiry into funding and
operation of the Commonwealth State/Territory Disability Agreement
to 8 February 2007.
Question on notice
Senator Allison asked the Minister representing the
Attorney-General why an answer had not yet been provided to
question on notice no. 2505 asked on 25 September 2006
relating to reduced-ignition propensity cigarettes.
The Minister provided an answer.
