    Introduced with the Customs Tariff Amendment (ACIS) Bill 2003, the bill amends the
    ACIS Administration Act 1999
    to extend the Automotive Competitiveness and Investment Scheme (ACIS) from its initial finishing date in 2005 to the end of 2015. Also provides for: distribution of ACIS funding into two funding pools (motor vehicle producers; and component producers and other scheme participants); establishment of a $150 million research and development fund for motor vehicle producers; and disclosure of information relating to scheme participants. Also contains transitional and application provisions.

    Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975
    to reform the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), particularly in relation to: AAT procedures; removal of restrictions on the constitution of the AAT for particular hearings; increased powers for ordinary members; role of the Federal Court; and expanded qualification requirements for appointment as President.
