Summary
Amends the: Social Security Act 1991 and Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 to expand eligiblity for the seniors’ work bonus to pensioners; A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999, A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999 and Social Security Act 1991 to increase family assistance by up to $4200 a year for families with teenagers undertaking full-time secondary study or a vocational education equivalent; A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999 to enable eligible baby bonus claimants to access a larger portion of the baby bonus upfront from 1 July 2011; Income Tax Assessment Act 1997, Social Security Act 1991 and Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 to ensure that annuity payments made from the Thalidomide Australia Fixed Trust are not taken into account as income; and A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999, Social Security Act 1991 and Social Security (Administration) Act 1999 in relation to income management arrangements.
