    to: reinstate claims arising from off-site recess injuries; provide for continuous workers’ compensation coverage for employees while overseas working in a declared place, or who belong to a declared class of employee; enable compensation for medical expenses to be paid where payment of other compensation is suspended; allow for time limits for claim determination; and enable Comcare to access the Consolidated Revenue Fund to pay certain compensation claims in respect of diseases with long latency periods; and
    Occupational Health and Safety (Maritime Industry) Act 1993
    and
    Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992
    to make technical amendments consequential on the commencement of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003.

    Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000
    to provide that the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and its staff undertake functions relating to provider registration and monitoring;
    Higher Education Support Act 2003
    to recognise new registration requirements for higher education providers and the TEQSA; and proposed
    Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011
    to update the definition of ‘vocational education and training course’. Also provides for the transition of functions from state and territories authorities to the TEQSA.
