    to: extend the operation of pharmacy location rules and their administration by the Australian Community Pharmacy Authority (ACPA) to 30 June 2010; increase the membership of the ACPA to include a consumer representative; provide for a Ministerial discretionary power in relation to approval of a pharmacist; clarify the Secretary’s ability to approve more than one pharmacist to supply pharmaceutical benefits in respect of particular premises and the Minister’s power to determine conditions relating to premises applying to approval to supply pharmaceutical benefits; simplify the approval process for pharmacists wishing to expand or contract their premises; and make minor technical amendments.

    to: introduce a shared debt recovery scheme that provides that, where contractual or other arrangements exist between a practitioner and an employer or corporate entity, both may be held responsible for the repayment of a compliance debt; and clarify that the jurisdiction of the Professional Services Review extends to officers of organisations that engage Medicare practitioners as contractors;
